It's been 11 years since the September 11 attacks, and everyone is finding their own way to cover and remember the day.
This day needs no explanation, but if you wanted a first hand account, Jeff Jarvis shared his on the 10th anniversary (last year).
I ran away from the towers. I ran into the building right there (now Reuters) but realized I could be trapped. I ran back out. #911
Jeff's full story is documented here.
Last year was a big anniversary for 9/11, but this year, how were people remembering?
Some remembered where they were when it happened.
I was a sophomore at Aragon High School. It was the year we were learning about "Modern World" in social studies and we were at a loss for words, watching what would be a defining moment in history unfold on the television.News organizations grappled with how to cover today.
No matter how they covered it, there were mixed reviews. The New York Times kept the anniversary off the front page, to mixed reviews.
MSNBC took the opposite approach by broadcasting footage of the attack.
Every year I find MSNBC's complete replay of its 9/11 original broadcast to be equal parts fascinating and horrifying.
Fox and CNN took a different approach, covering the memorial ceremonies mostly.
Fox, CNN rolling footage of 9/11 ceremony... MSNBC still rolling footage from 2001.
CNN also talked about "A New Terror Threat."
And ABC News didn't show any video from 9/11 attacks, just images. Jeff Sonderman has a good round up of media reactions
