It's not completely over yet. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) says Emily may gain traction again.

Tropical Storm Emily, which formed in the Caribbean and was headed towards Haiti and Florida, degenerated into a low pressure trough.

The heavy rain means that Haiti is still in danger of flooding, while hundreds of thousands of people lack proper shelter and are living in tents since the 2010 earthquake.

The NHC says that "torrential rains expected over Hispaniola."
It's 12:00 AST and water levels in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are starting to normalize.

The Dominican Republis, Cuba and the Bahamas have stopped all tropical storm watches and warnings, according to the NHC. Torrential rains could still cause life threatening flash floods and mud slides.
